And few updates...
I think I'm finally caught up on posts! Sorry for the lack of them recently, but my kids sure like to keep me busy! I need to paint my car yellow and add a taxi sign to the roof! I think I should add how much I pay in take out/fast food to my list of dance expenses. LOL
First, Lindsey was accepted into the volunteer program at our local zoo. She is so excited to start! The classes start next Saturday, so that means she has to quit acting. Yay on our monthly bill being a little cheaper, but boo to having to quit! (She auditioned for a Christmas play her acting teacher was directing and landed a small part, so we'll definitely audition for more plays, just not right now due to time constraints. I'll add a few pictures at the end to show off my little actress).
Costumes are slowly coming in. We have lyrical, tap and ballet already here at home. I love, love, LOVE the ballet one! I'll take pictures and add them when we have our big comp dress rehersal in March. Lindsey won't humor me and try them on when we get home. I've tried, but it's pure torture for both of us. LOL
And lastly, a girl quit Lindsey's group right after Christmas. At least 3 dances have had to be reworked, two of them with partner work. Jazz was looking awesome, but now it's just kind of blah. I'm sure everything will work itself out, it's just a little disappointing for sure.
That's about all I can think of for now. I hope to keep up a little better now, but February is looking just as busy as January. Hope y'all are staying warm and aren't getting too much snow! We live in the northeast so that is a normal for our winters. Yuck! (I'm asking for a snow blower next year for my birthday! I hate having to shovel our sidewalk and driveway!)
Adding a few photos of the play Lindsey was in in December since I've been lacking them lately. I'm so proud of my little actress! (My son was also had a small role in the play).

I saw this in my mailbox and was like recital fee? Recital fee?! The darn recital isn't until June so why do we have to pay this now?!

Competition Fees!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
All dance mamas should really hate this bill! Luckily we only have 2 comps that we are going to, so I know it could be so much worse. (Other studios in our area go to 4 or more, so yeah, it could be way worse).
Our first competition is in March in Charleston, WV. Lindsey has 5 group dances and 1 solo.
Dance break down for Comp #1:
Acro - $46
Production - $46
Tap - $46
Jazz - $46
Lyrical - $46
Solo - $110
And our studio adds a one time processing fee - $20
Total for Comp #1 - $360
Our second comp is in April and will be in Columbus, OH. Again it is 5 group dances and 1 solo.
Dance breakdown for Comp #2:
Acro - $46
Production - $46
Tap - $46
Jazz - $46
Lyrical - $46
Solo - $115
Total for Comp #2 - $345

January 11
Lindsey text me while I was at baseball with my son saying she needed a new black leotard.
:sigh:
What is new right?!
So, thanks to the studio store we have one new black leotard.
I told her to order a pair of new pink tights while she was there, but my shy child didn't.
:sigh:
That'll be next month.
